Agreement to Terms

By creating an account and using Filevoid, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

Description of Service

Filevoid provides encrypted cloud storage services. We offer anonymous accounts with end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only you can access your files. Our service includes:

  • Secure file storage with AES-256-GCM encryption
  • Anonymous account creation
  • Time-limited file sharing capabilities
  • Multiple storage tiers based on subscription level

Account Registration

To use Filevoid, you must create an account. When you create an account:

  • You will receive a unique account ID and secret
  • You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your secret
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • Providing an email address is optional but may be useful for billing reminders

Your Responsibilities

Secret Management

Your account secret is shown only once upon account creation. You must:

  • Save your secret in a secure location immediately
  • Never share your secret with anyone
  • Understand that we cannot recover your secret or decrypt your files if you lose it

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Filevoid to:

  • Store or share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Violate any laws or regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
  • Store or distribute malware, viruses, or other malicious code
  • Engage in activities that could harm our service or other users
  • Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or interfere with our security measures
  • Use automated systems to access the service without authorization
  • Store or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or child exploitation content
  • Use the service to facilitate human trafficking, terrorism, or other serious criminal activities
  • Engage in phishing, fraud, or identity theft
  • Store or distribute non-consensual intimate images

Abuse Reporting and Enforcement

Reporting Abuse

If you believe content shared through Filevoid violates our Terms of Service, contains illegal material, or constitutes abuse, please report it immediately. We take all abuse reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

To report abuse, please email [email protected] with the following information:

  • The share link or any identifying information about the content
  • A detailed description of the violation
  • Any relevant screenshots or documentation (if safe to provide)
  • Your contact information for follow-up (optional)

For reports of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), we will immediately escalate the matter to the appropriate authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement agencies.

Investigation and Response

Upon receiving an abuse report, we will:

  • Review the report and any available metadata or access patterns
  • Take immediate action if the content poses imminent danger or involves serious crimes
  • Suspend or terminate accounts found to be in violation of our Terms
  • Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations
  • Implement technical measures to prevent similar abuse

While our end-to-end encryption prevents us from viewing file contents, we can and will take action based on:

  • Share link reports and access to shared (unencrypted) content
  • Metadata patterns indicating abusive behavior
  • Credible reports from law enforcement
  • Violations of acceptable use detected through automated systems

Consequences of Abuse

Accounts found to be in violation of our Terms or engaged in abusive behavior will face consequences including:

  • Immediate suspension or termination of account access
  • Permanent deletion of all files and account data
  • Ban from creating new accounts on our platform
  • Reporting to law enforcement and relevant authorities
  • No refunds for any paid services

We reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary to protect our service, our users, and the public, including preserving evidence and cooperating with legal proceedings.

Content and Encryption

All files you upload are encrypted end-to-end. This means:

  • We cannot access, view, or modify your files
  • We cannot verify the contents of your files
  • You are solely responsible for the content you upload
  • We cannot assist in recovering files if you lose your secret

While we cannot access your encrypted files, if we receive credible reports of illegal activity or Terms violations, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts.

Subscription and Payments

Free Tier

We offer a free tier with limited storage. The free tier may be modified or discontinued at any time.

Paid Plans

Paid plans work as follows:

  • All payments are one-off purchases that add time to your account
  • Payments do not automatically renew. You must manually purchase additional time when your plan expires
  • Can be paid via credit card (through Stripe) or cryptocurrency

Refund Policy

Because Filevoid operates on a pay-as-you-go model without recurring memberships or subscriptions, we generally do not offer refunds for completed purchases. However, we are committed to complying with all applicable consumer protection laws and regulations in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to:

  • Statutory cooling-off periods or withdrawal rights where legally required
  • Consumer protection laws that mandate refunds in specific circumstances
  • Cases where the service was not delivered as described or was defective

If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable law, please contact us at [email protected] with details of your purchase and the legal basis for your refund request. We will review all refund requests on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable legislation.

Plan Expiration

When your paid plan expires:

  • Your files remain accessible during a grace period
  • You can purchase additional time to extend your access
  • After the grace period, your files will be permanently deleted

Data Retention and Deletion

If your plan expires and is not renewed within the grace period:

  • All files will be permanently and irreversibly deleted
  • All account data is permanently deleted. We cannot recover your account or files
  • Your account ID and secret will no longer grant access to any data

Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but we cannot guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • That the service will meet your specific requirements
  • That defects will be corrected

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FILEVOID SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Damages resulting from loss of your account secret
  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
  • Any damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the past 12 months

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Filevoid from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Content you upload or share

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms and Conditions
  • We receive credible reports of illegal activity
  • Your account is used in a manner that could harm our service or other users
  • Required by law or legal process

Upon termination, your access to the service will cease, and your files may be deleted immediately without notice.

Privacy

Your use of Filevoid is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your information.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email (if provided) or through the service. Continued use of Filevoid after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Filevoid operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Filevoid shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
